Loving kindness is a meditation technique that became universally popular with the advent of the international mindfulness movement. One could say, however, that the Buddha’s intent in teaching it 2500 years ago went way beyond mere stress-release and developing social skills. Looking at the way to use loving kindness to unfold one’s Buddha-nature, participants will try basic forms of this classic practice.
Venerable Lobsang Tenpa was born in Siberia in 1988, and has been a translator for many Tibetan and Western Buddhist teachers, including Lama Zopa Rinpoche, Khandro-la and Dagri Rinpoche. Ordained as a monk by Ganden Tripa Lobsang Tenzin, he is currently enrolled in a four year Buddhist Studies program at the University of Kathmandu in Nepal.
